Insurances Accepted for Therapy

How to find a Therapist that accepts insurance in Washington State? Excellent question. Let us help! Here at Lakewood Child and Family Counseling, most clients prefer to pay privately for mental health therapy services. Therefore, we offer a few Therapists that accept insurance for therapy in WA. Some of our Therapists are in-network with the following insurance providers:

  • Premera Blue Shield
  • Regence Blue Cross
  • First Choice Health Network – FCHN
  • Kaiser PPO and HMO (all plans)
  • Molina Marketplace Plans
  • Lifewise Insurance of WA
  • VA CCN (with referral only)
  • Tricare
  • and more!

Important Insurance Information

  • Most union insurance plans are covered under First Choice Health Network (FCHN) or Premera/Regence.
  • We do not accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthplan, or Optum unless you use out-of-network benefits or private pay for sessions.

Out-of-Network Benefits

If we are not an in-network provider with your insurance, you may still have coverage. Often through your out-of-network benefits. We can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network mental health therapy or behavioral health care coverage. Every plan calls it something a little different.

How Out-of-Network Billing Works

  1. You pay for your sessions upfront.
  2. We provide a superbill (detailed receipt) to submit to your insurance company regarding your Therapy Services.
  3. Your insurance provider may reimburse you directly based on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand the specifics of your out-of-network coverage. Ask them about Therapy or Behavioral Health Services that are out-of-network. Ask them what they cover. If you are still unsure, call us. We know the plans we accept and how they work for Therapy services in WA!
