Online Therapy for Regence Blue Shield Members Across Washington
If you’ve spent any amount of time trying to find an in-network therapist on your Regence directory, you already know the frustration: full caseloads, outdated listings, and providers who haven’t taken new clients in years. Lakewood Child and Family Counseling exists in part to solve that. We’re a Washington based and licensed therapy group, in-network with Regence Blue Shield, and we keep our practice small enough that we can actually take you on.
What therapy looks like with us: real conversations with a licensed counselor who pays attention. We don’t run a script. We work with you on what’s actually pulling at your attention: the relationship that’s gone cold, the work stress that won’t quit, the diagnosis you just got, the loss you can’t explain to anyone else, the part of you that’s tired of holding it all together. Our therapists draw from evidence-based approaches like DBT, CBT, ACT, EFT, and somatic work, and we adjust what we use based on what fits you.
Our clients tend to be thoughtful, hardworking people who’ve been “fine” for too long. Some have never been in therapy before. Some have been through it and want a different experience this time. Either way, you’re welcome here.
Common reasons people start with us:
- Constant low-grade anxiety or feeling wound up most of the time
- Depression that lingers and doesn’t lift on its own
- Burnout that vacation can’t fix
- Adult ADHD, AuDHD, or other neurodivergence (diagnosed or suspected)
- Trauma reactions that show up unexpectedly
- Grief over a death, a relationship, or a version of yourself
- Perfectionism, harsh inner critic, never-feeling-good-enough patterns
- Big life shifts: divorce, career change, new parenthood, retirement, illness
- Communication patterns and resentment in close relationships
You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong before you reach out. That’s part of what we’ll figure out together.
Could Regence Therapy at LCFC Be a Fit for You?
You might be a great match for our practice if any of these sound like you…
You're functioning on the outside but exhausted on the inside
You're tired of meeting everyone else's standards before your own
You want a therapist who'll do real work, not just nod and reflect

You want to use the insurance you already pay for without the runaround
You don’t need to wait until things get worse to start. Regence covers behavioral health telehealth on the same terms as in-person sessions. For most members, that means a manageable copay.
About Our Team
Washington-Licensed Counselors With Real Time For You
Our clinicians come from a range of specialties: trauma, neurodivergence, military and veteran care, perinatal mental health, grief, general wellness, and complex life transitions. Most have backgrounds outside of therapy, too: financial advising, education, speech & language, healthcare, yoga & meditation, military & military spouse life, which means we tend to understand the practical and emotional layers of what our clients are navigating. We stay small on purpose. That’s how we keep our calendars open and our care personal.

Regence Therapy FAQ: Common Questions
Is a referral required to use Regence for therapy?
For most Regence Blue Shield plans, no referral is needed to see an in-network behavioral health provider. There are a handful of HMO-style plans that may require one. Feel free to check your plan before the first session.
How much will I pay per session with Regence?
Your cost depends on your specific plan and whether you’ve met your deductible. Most Regence members pay a copay between $0 and around $50 per session.
What if I haven’t met my deductible yet?
Some Regence plans apply behavioral health to your deductible, while others bypass it and go straight to copay. If yours applies the deductible, you’ll pay the contracted in-network rate per session until the deductible is met, after which you’ll move to your standard copay. We’ll walk you through the math so there are no surprises.
Does Regence cover online therapy the same as in-person?
Yes. Regence treats behavioral health telehealth the same as in-person care for billing and coverage purposes. And sometimes with a lesser copay than in-person.
I have Regence through Boeing (or another large WA employer). Will it work?
In most cases, yes. Many large employer plans use Regence as the network administrator. The coverage usually works the same as a standard Regence plan, but plan-specific quirks can exist.
Are there Regence plans you don’t accept?
We’re in-network with most Regence Blue Shield plans in Washington. If you have a Regence plan from outside Washington (for example, Regence Oregon or Regence Idaho), let us know and we’ll check whether your plan extends in-network coverage to Washington providers.
How fast can I get started?
Most clients have their first session within two weeks of reaching out. We process new client paperwork quickly and don’t run a long intake gauntlet before your first appointment.
What other insurance plans do you accept?
In addition to Regence, we accept Tricare Prime, Tricare Select, Premera Blue Cross, LifeWise, VA, Ambetter Marketplace, Molina Marketplace, HMA, and FCHN. Visit our Fees & Insurance page for complete details.
I’m in a rural part of Washington. Can I still see you?
Yes. Telehealth was built for situations exactly like yours. As long as you have a private space and a stable internet connection, your zip code doesn’t matter. We see clients regularly from Eastern Washington, the Olympic Peninsula, and small towns across the state.
